Special Event Volunteers
Newspaper articles and local reporters highlight
the crisis situations some Nebraska children face.
Do you ever wonder what you could do to make a difference?
Take advantage of this unusually fun way to make a
difference by volunteering as a committee member for
the 2009 Voices for Children in Nebraska, "A
Work of Heart" Valentine Gala. Funds raised go
directly to supporting the actions necessary to achieve
our organization's statement of purpose.
Requirements: Enthusiasm, detail oriented
and ability to work as a team player.
Time Commitment: The entire committee meets once a
month from August-February for approximately an hour
and a half in the evening. Sub-committees meet at
the discretion of the committee chair. The event is
scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the Scott
Conference Center in Omaha.
Sub-Committee Choices:
" Live Auction-solicit donations from local business
(via phone, internet or in person), help pick up secured
donations, brainstorm ideas for auction packages
" Silent Auction-solicit donations from local
business (via phone, internet or in person), help
pick up secured donations, brainstorm ideas for auction
packages
" Student Art-travel with local elementary schools
to a downtown art studio to embark on an art adventure
" Facility and Decorations-help plan the look
of the event by coordinating linens, table favors,
centerpieces, menu and beverage choices
" Awards-assist with the planning of the award
nomination brochure and selection of award recipients
